About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Product Owner to join Enginuity Group. Reporting to the Senior Digital Product Manager, this position will sit within our Enterprise team.

Our Enterprise team are on a mission to create insight into the engineering skills landscape, providing an overview of the skills needed today and predicting those that will be needed tomorrow through expert use of data. Furthermore, our Enterprise team provides guidance through educational pathways to enable practitioners to close identified skills gaps.
Your role would sit in the “Enspire” pillar. You will be responsible for helping inspire young people to consider a career in engineering through increasing awareness on the breadth of the sector. You will deliver educational games, experiences, and resources that make learning fun. As Digital Product Owner you will be the champion of our user voice. You will have a deep understanding of what our users (students, teachers, parents, career advisors) need and be able to turn this into a roadmap with associated epics, features, and user stories. You will introduce young people to careers in an engaging and imaginative way, by providing a strong narrative around social purpose and how engineers are a part of solving the challenges we face now and in the future. You will be able to map what we are delivering to the curriculum and wider learning objectives and frameworks.
You’ll be an innovative individual who can build positive relationships and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders (users, the business and our technical development team). A confident decision maker, you’ll also be able to think both strategically and tactically and work with people from across the business.
Whilst we are looking for a Product Owner with previous experience of working in an Agile environment, we would also encourage teachers to consider applying for this position, providing they have a high degree of computer literacy and a willingness to learn.
Key responsibilities
What you’ll be doing
• Developing business cases that underpin product strategy, with clear definition of opportunity, costs and value
• Translating user research and feedback into clearly articulated epics, features and user stories, ensuring teams understand the overall objective and how the product or experience will be built in line with our own strategic objectives
• Build and maintain the product roadmap, ensuring that features are scoped and support the short-term and long-term vision, and associated KPIs.
• Work closely with developers and testers to remove ambiguity, and elaborate on user stories, ensuring that there is a clear acceptance criteria and definition of done
• Facilitate and contribute to all necessary Agile ceremonies, and regularly demo progress to the business
• Provide leadership and direction to the team and stakeholders throughout the project
• Liaise with 3rd party suppliers where required to build key components
• Represent the voice of the customer and business in day-to-day decision making
• Seek feedback from customers on the level of service provided and identify areas for continuous improvement
• Continually research & analyse the market, users, competitors, and industry
• Attend and in some cases lead user testing with schools
Skills and experience required
What we’re looking for
• You will be able to communicate effectively though a variety of different methods including written, verbal and excellent presentation skills
• You will be an innovative individual who can create a vision and bring people along with you
• You will be a team player working with multiple teams across the business and co-ordinating with third parties and clients
• You will have previous experience of working within an Agile environment
• Alternatively, you will have previous experience of working in a school environment and willing to undergo training to learn Agile methodology
• You may have had experience with such tools including: Jira, Confluence, DevOps, Trello, Microsoft Office, Gsuite, Workspace, Visio, Lucid chart and Azure
Other skills which would be desirable however not needed to apply for the role
• If you have experience of working within a similar role in an Awarding Organisation
• Having a relevant Product Owner and/or Product Manager qualification
• Educated to degree level in an IT or Business qualification
• Knowledge of the skills landscape
• Knowledge of Minecraft
