TWI Certification Ltd, supporting partner

TWI Certification Ltd (TWI CL), a wholly owned subsidiary of The Welding Institute, formed in 1993 to exemplify the independence and impartiality required to deliver certification in accordance with international standards.

TWI CL develops and implements certification schemes, approves training courses and authorises assessment to satisfy industry needs. These activities are performed under the stakeholder governance of the Certification Management Board, which is made up of representatives from industry, such as BP Exploration and Production, National Grid Gas plc, Network Rail, Lloyd’s Register, Rolls-Royce and Shell.

TWI CL provides certification in three distinct areas:

Personnel Certification, which provides personnel competence assurance certification through their CSWIP and BGAS-CSWIP schemes. CSWIP certificates provide employer confidence in compliance with current standards and regulations, and offer assurance to their customers that their staff are competent and can deliver the product quality and safety required.

Company Certification, which provides certification for manufacturers to WFCS/ISO 3834, CAESAS/EN 1090-1, CWRVC/ ECWRV/ EN 15085-2, CMSM / ISO 17782 (NORSOK M-650). These products have a direct relationship to the success and profitability of companies worldwide by enabling them to show compliance with European and International product standards. In addition, Company Certification offers a Certification Scheme for Welder Training Organisations (CSWTO).

Welder Certification is responsible for welding procedure qualifications (WPQR) and the certification of welders, which provides industry with assurance of the competence of their production welding activities. Welder Certification is responsible for the End Point Assessment of apprentices under the new Apprenticeship standard. In conjunction with this, it provides welder qualifications and testing, as well as operating the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) and acting as the examining body for a number of CSWIP certifications.

TWI CL is the Authorised Nominated Body for EWF and IIW qualifications in welding coordination, leading to International and European Welding Specialist/Technologist and Engineer.

TWI CL understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification activities, managing conflict of interest and ensuring the objectivity of all certification decisions.

TWI CL provides client confidence and industry compliance on a worldwide scale.
