The North has been full of activity recently, and I’ve been right at the heart of it. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been leading engagement across the North West, Yorkshire and the Humber, connecting with employers, educators, and regional partners.
It’s been incredibly inspiring to see so many people and organisations coming together to address the challenges and opportunities facing our sectors. A few highlights from recent weeks include:
- Cheshire & Warrington LSIP Business Event – I joined a panel to discuss the key skills challenges facing local businesses and shared how Enginuity is supporting the region’s skills agenda. It was a fantastic opportunity to hear directly from employers about their priorities and explore ways we can help bridge skills gaps
- EAL Industry Event at Burnley College – This event showcased the power of collaboration between industry and FE. I was encouraged to see educators and employers working closely together to ensure that learning programs meet the evolving needs of the local workforce
- Leeds Manufacturing Festival Pre-Launch – Led by David Baggaley, this initiative brings together employers and academia to foster innovation and growth in the manufacturing sector. I presented Enginuity’s role as a sector connector, and it was a privilege to see how our work is helping link industry needs with educational opportunities.
I’m excited to keep championing employer voices on the ground and driving forward the skills agenda across the North.
