What is it?
A new national day to celebrate vocational skills.
Vocational Celebration Day is a new national day created by Enginuity and EAL to spotlight the value of vocational learning.
We’re laying the foundations this year for the first official Vocational Celebration Day on 6 August 2026 — a national moment to recognise and uplift vocational learners, colleges, training providers, and employers across the UK.
Between now and 2026, we’ll be building momentum — amplifying stories, sharing resources, and celebrating the learners who power our industries.

Why is it important?
Championing skills. Changing perceptions.
Vocational learning has long been undervalued — seen as less important or less challenging than academic routes. We want to change that.
Right now, the UK needs more people with hands-on, technical, work-ready skills, and vocational learners are rising to the challenge. Whether it’s in engineering, manufacturing, construction or care, these learners are building the future.
It’s time we recognised their contribution — and celebrated the organisations helping them succeed.

Watch the launch
We kicked things off with a special live recording of the Steph on Skills podcast in Newcastle, featuring Steph McGovern and an inspiring panel of vocational learners!
Together, we explored the power of vocational pathways, the challenges learners face, and why it’s time to celebrate skills that keep our sector moving.
