Enginuity is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Welding category at the WorldSkills UK 2025 competition. This partnership is a testament to Enginuity's commitment to nurturing new talent and promoting excellence in the UK's engineering and manufacturing sector.

Celebrating excellence in Welding

The WorldSkills UK 2025 competitions are designed by industry experts and help young people grow personally and professionally by developing their technical and employability skills.

Enginuity’s decision to sponsor the Welding category stems from the growing skills gap in the welding sector. The UK faces a significant shortage of qualified welders, with many employers relying on importing talent to fill critical roles.

Welding offers a rewarding and stable career path, with strong demand across the manufacturing and engineering sector.  Through this sponsorship, Enginuity aims not only to raise the profile of welding as a valuable and long-term career but also to support the broader mission of WorldSkills UK in elevating standards of teaching and training across all the sectors.

Ann Watson, CEO of Enginuity, commented on the sponsorship: "We’re delighted to sponsor the Welding category at WorldSkills UK 2025. By supporting the Welding category, Enginuity aims to address this challenge by encouraging more young people to pursue careers in welding, equipping them with the technical skills and industry knowledge needed to succeed. We’re committed to supporting the next generation of engineering talent, and WorldSkills UK is a fantastic platform to celebrate and inspire excellence."

In the podcast, Mel commented: “It doesn’t matter what your background is, whether you’re academic or not, there are still opportunities out there. Engineering is a great thing to be involved in, it’s shaping the future and we’re on the precipice of exciting, advanced technology. It would be great to see more people coming into Welding”
