Enginuity is proud to announce their support for the newly launched Get the Nation Learning campaign, a national movement that aims to turn the tide after over a decade of decline in lifelong learning. Led by the Learning and Work Institute (L&W), the campaign calls on employers, institutions, and policymakers to back adult education as a critical support for economic growth and social mobility.

The campaign launch follows new research from L&W, commissioned by Phoenix Insights, which shows clear links between adult learning and improved employment outcomes. With the Government aiming for an 80% employment rate and greater economic participation, the evidence points to lifelong learning as a key strategy to get there, particularly for those with lower qualifications or out of work.

Ann Watson, CEO of Enginuity, comments: “By 2043, 75.5% of today’s workforce will still be employed. With technological transformation accelerating and time running out to realise our goals on Net Zero, embedding a culture of lifelong learning in this country is critical to survive and thrive.

“We are incredibly excited to put our voice behind this crucial campaign. Lifelong learning is at the heart of what Enginuity does - uniquely placed as a sector connector for manufacturing and engineering firms, we spend our charitable funds on projects that help to close the skills gap.”

Enginuity joins a growing coalition of charter signatories, including EAL, Channel 4, Make UK, the National Housing Federation, and the Association of Colleges. The charter is a call to action urging organisations to champion learning across all stages of life and work.

Enginuity actively supports learners across the spectrum, from inspiring the next generation of engineers to helping women return to STEM careers after a break and working with prisons to prepare individuals for employment after custody.

Get the Nation Learning is a reminder that learning doesn’t stop at the school gate. Enginuity is committed to ensuring everyone has the chance to grow, adapt, and succeed, no matter their background or starting point.
