This week, as part of celebrations around International Women’s Day, Enginuity brought together the inspiring community behind our 365 Faces of STEM campaign for the very first 365 LIVE event.
Held on Thursday 5 March, the event marked a powerful moment for the campaign. Over the past year, 365 Faces of STEM has celebrated the women and allies shaping the future of the STEM sector. By sharing real stories from across the sector, the campaign has created a platform for people driving inclusion in STEM to be seen, heard and recognised for the difference they are making.
Seeing so many of the faces from the first year of the campaign together in one room was a powerful celebration. The energy, passion and commitment to building a more inclusive STEM sector was clear throughout the day, and it was a reminder that when a community comes together, real change is possible.
A special highlight of the event was the live performance of 'What If', a poem written and performed by award-winning spoken word artist Ogorchukwu Ozor. The piece captured the spirit of the campaign and reflected on the importance of representation, visibility, and collective action in STEM.
To continue marking International Women’s Day, we’re now sharing the poem so that more people can experience the message that resonated so strongly in the room.

What If - Poem by Ogorchukwu Ozor
Stories don’t always start with a win. Heroines aren’t always born, but formed. Answers don’t appear without asking questions. So what if, what if we began to ask more questions?
What if instead of asking women to be louder, we made sure they were seen?
What if progress didn’t look like already being extraordinary?
What if instead of asking people to shine brighter, we helped them turn on the light?
What if support didn’t lurk, like stepping aside, but stepping in beside?
What if the future didn’t need fixing, just room to arrive?
What if a year became a map?
365 days, one story a day.
So no one had to wonder if there was space for them here.
What if we looked at the world and saw welders, marine engineers, wind turbines, F1 speed, and automotive precision, and thought, I recognise myself in this work.
What if allyship looked like Vince Pizzoni in March, not just taking the mic but handing it back, over and over and over, until a thousand women learn what belief looked like when it was consistent?
What if leadership looked like Professor Mehmet in July, and six engineers who went further, faster because someone made space and meant it?
What if your youth wasn’t something to grow out of, but something to stand on?
What if we gave the next generation tools to shape their future?
What if they didn’t have to wait?
What if they were invited in?
What if a young girl could pick up a book and know that girls really can engineer?
What if we all understood the power of our voices?
Like Rebecca Turner, an engineer who entered the field with 3% of women, and now engineers ways for women’s voices to be heard?
What if you didn’t have to win awards?
What if you didn’t have to start charities?
What if you didn’t have to do more than your fair share to justify your place?
What if being good at your job was already enough?
What if it was more than a year, more than 365 days, and it went on and on and on?
What if all of this was proof?
