National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect time to celebrate the people, employers and organisations helping apprenticeships thrive. At Enginuity, we’re proud to support engineering and manufacturing apprenticeships, making it easier for learners to start their careers, employers to build talent, and the sector to grow.

Closing the skills gap with support

Enginuity works to address the skills shortages in engineering and manufacturing by giving employers, educators and learners the tools, data and guidance they need. We aim to make pathways into engineering and manufacturing clearer and more accessible, helping people see where apprenticeships can take them.

Our resources cover a wide range of needs. From workforce planning tools for employers to educational resources that bring careers to life for learners, Enginuity provides practical support to help everyone make informed decisions.

Celebrating excellence through the Enginuity Skills Awards

Recognition can make a big difference. The Enginuity Skills Awards, now in its 12th year, celebrates the best in talent, innovation and skills leadership across engineering and manufacturing. With categories for apprentices – like Advanced Level Apprentice of the Year and Graduate, Degree or Higher-Level Apprentice of the Year - the awards highlight people who are making a real impact.

Being nominated or winning helps inspire others, showing employers why investing in apprenticeships matters and encouraging learners to consider vocational pathways into rewarding careers. The winners of this year's Skills Awards will be announced at a spectacular ceremony on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, where we’ll come together at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge to celebrate the people powering the UK’s engineering future.

Sharing conversations through the Steph on Skills podcast

Understanding how apprenticeships work and the opportunities they offer is easier when people talk about their experiences. Our Steph on Skills: Powered by Enginuity podcast, hosted by broadcaster Steph McGovern, features conversations with apprentices, employers, educators and sector leaders.

Listeners can hear first-hand how apprenticeships help people grow, the challenges and successes of employers, and the broader impact apprentices have on the sector and communities. It’s an engaging way to see apprenticeships in action.

Supporting career decisions with the Women in STEM Apprenticeship Guide

The number of jobs with STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) skills is growing faster than other types. But there’s a widening skills gap, which means employers can’t fill them fast enough. Our Women in STEM Apprenticeships Guide presents practical advice and insights for employers to help women and girls overcome the barriers they face when accessing STEM apprenticeships.

There are tens of thousands of talented women and girls who could thrive in STEM and help close the skills gap now and in the future. They just need the right kind of support, guidance and inspiration to get their career started in a positive and inclusive way. Our STEM apprenticeship resources have been designed around four key themes of focus: Attract, Recruit, Support and Retain.

Recognising vocational pathways all year round

Enginuity also promotes vocational learning beyond National Apprenticeship Week through Vocational Celebration Day. Vocational Celebration Day is a new national day created by Enginuity and EAL to spotlight the value of vocational learning.

We’re currently laying the foundations this year for the first official Vocational Celebration Day on 6 August 2026, a national moment to recognise and uplift vocational learners, colleges, training providers, and employers across the UK. Between now and 2026, we’ll be building momentum, amplifying stories, sharing resources, and celebrating the learners who power our industries.

Working together for the future

During National Apprenticeship Week, Enginuity celebrates the people and pathways helping apprenticeships grow. By providing resources, recognising achievement, and sharing stories through our podcast and guides, we’re helping learners, employers, and educators see the value of apprenticeships every day.

Let’s celebrate apprentices, the employers who support them, and the skills that make our sector stronger – today and all year round.
