Aerospace Skills Comparator and Role Explorer

We partnered with ADS, and Farnborough International to help more people access career opportunities in the thriving aerospace industry at the Pioneers of Tomorrow STEM event at the Farnborough Airshow 2024. We created Skills Comparator and Role Explorer, which allowed people to select skills they already have or are in the process of acquiring, to see a summary of roles from across the aerospace industry that match those skills.

Project details

Why are we doing this project?

The aerospace industry is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements and a focus on net-zero, which has created a demand for new skills. Enginuity partnered with ADS and Farnborough International to address skills shortages by helping individuals discover transferable skills and explore career opportunities within the aerospace industry. By aligning people’s existing skills with the needs of the industry, this project aims to bridge the skills gap and support career development.

About the project

The aerospace Skills Comparator and Role Explorer tools were developed to help people identify potential careers in aerospace by matching their current skills with in-demand roles. Skills Comparator uses the Enginuity Skills Framework to map transferable skills to job opportunities within aerospace, while the Role Explorer provides detailed information on the key tasks and requirements for each role. These tools are designed to make aerospace careers more accessible and help employers address talent shortages.

Project status

Enginuity, ADS, and Farnborough International are making aerospace careers more accessible through innovative skills-matching tools.

The aerospace Skills Comparator and Role Explorer tools were showcased at the Farnborough International Airshow’s Pioneers of Tomorrow event in July 2024, helping attendees explore how their skills can translate into careers in the aerospace industry. These tools will remain available online for a limited time and will be used by ADS at upcoming career events to help individuals easily discover roles that match their skills and explore career pathways within the aerospace industry.

The project will run until November, supporting ADS and Farnborough International in engaging and inspiring job seekers and career switchers to explore opportunities within the aerospace and aviation industries. It aims to raise awareness of the diverse career paths available and encourage individuals to pursue rewarding roles in these dynamic industries.
