Why are we doing this project?
The aerospace industry is rapidly evolving, driven by technological advancements and a focus on net-zero, which has created a demand for new skills. Enginuity partnered with ADS and Farnborough International to address skills shortages by helping individuals discover transferable skills and explore career opportunities within the aerospace industry. By aligning people’s existing skills with the needs of the industry, this project aims to bridge the skills gap and support career development.
About the project
The aerospace Skills Comparator and Role Explorer tools were developed to help people identify potential careers in aerospace by matching their current skills with in-demand roles. Skills Comparator uses the Enginuity Skills Framework to map transferable skills to job opportunities within aerospace, while the Role Explorer provides detailed information on the key tasks and requirements for each role. These tools are designed to make aerospace careers more accessible and help employers address talent shortages.

An online tool that matches users' existing skills with roles in the aerospace and aviation industry using Enginuity’s Skills Framework.

A platform that provides detailed job descriptions, key activities, and requirements for various roles within the aerospace and aviation sector.
Career exploration at events
The tools were showcased at Farnborough International's Pioneers of Tomorrow event and will feature at future career events in October 2024.
