Why are we doing this?

The engineering and manufacturing sector is experiencing a significant skills shortage, making it crucial for employers to engage with T Levels. These qualifications provide essential skills tailored to industry needs, yet many employers are unaware of their benefits. By raising awareness, we aim to educate employers on how T Levels can help bridge the skills gap, fostering collaboration between businesses and educational institutions to benefit both employers and students.

About the project

This two-year project, funded by the Gatsby Foundation and set to run until 2025, aims to boost employer awareness of Engineering and Manufacturing T Levels. We will utilise our employer network and partners to achieve this raise awareness and bolster engagement. Furthermore, a targeted marketing campaign will be developed for SMEs, outlining the business case for offering and supporting T Level placements.

Project status

Enginuity and Gatsby have made good headway on the project, including speaking at number of events about T Levels, as well as delivering webinars.

We are actively raising awareness of T Levels through employer engagement and our broader networks. Initial discussions are underway in the Solent area to assess its viability as a pilot location for the campaign. Additionally, we are developing a marketing campaign focused on SMEs, showcasing case studies that highlight the benefits of hosting placements.

Looking forward, we will finalise the Solent pilot and hope to expand the T Levels awareness campaign to other regions. The SME-focused marketing campaign will be launched, featuring real success stories to encourage more businesses to engage with T Level placements.
