Project details

Why are we doing this project?

The rapid advancement of technology is transforming the engineering and manufacturing industries, driving demand for new skills. To help businesses, particularly SMEs, adapt and stay competitive, Enginuity created the Future Skills Hub. This platform provides accessible resources, insights, and practical examples that help employers understand the skills needed to leverage emerging technologies.

About the project

Aimed predominantly at manufacturing and engineering SMEs, the Enginuity Future Skills Hub has been established to provide accessible insights into emerging technologies and their impact on skills demand. It offers bite-sized resources, including articles, interviews with industry leaders, and podcast episodes, all focused on demystifying the trends reshaping the sector. The Hub also features case studies, showcasing how small businesses have successfully navigated their own skills challenges.

Project status

The Enginuity Future Skills Hub continues to demystify various technologies and their impact on skills demand across the changing landscape of skills and technology in engineering and manufacturing.

Launched in 2024 with an initial focus on digitalisation, the Enginuity Future Skills Hub has become a vital resource for SMEs looking to stay competitive by understanding the skills needed to adopt new technologies. The Hub offers accessible content that simplifies digitalisation, highlighting its benefits and the practical steps businesses can take to integrate it. The platform has been widely utilised, offering regular blog posts, case studies, and podcast episodes that provide expert insights and real-world examples of successful skills adoption.

Looking ahead, Enginuity will broaden the Hub’s scope by introducing content on emerging technologies, particularly in renewables, with an immediate focus on electrification and hydrogen. Throughout 2024, we’ll enhance the platform with more case studies and podcast episodes, providing SMEs with the latest insights and practical guidance. The Hub will remain a go-to resource, equipping businesses with the knowledge they need to meet future skills demands and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving industry.
