Skills Champion of the Year

This award recognises those unsung pioneer who commit their heart and soul to training and developing the highly skilled individuals we have within engineering and manufacturing. Whether it be apprentices, T-level students, or graduates or ensuring the existing workforce has the skills for the future; these are individuals working behind the scenes who invest their time in the success of others.  

The skills and talent that we have in the sector is down to the efforts of training providers, colleges, universities or inhouse learning and development teams. This award recognises those individuals, teams or organisations that work relentlessly to ensure our engineers have the skills they need to be successful.

Winner: Ruth Devine, Managing Director, SJD Electrical

Ruth was recognised for the time she dedicates to championing electrotechnical skills and encouraging more women into the sector.
